Low draw distance

Can anyone help me out? The draw distance is very low in my game and today when I played the new map everything looked awfull. Nothing is visible until you are a few meters away and its hard to navigate around the islands. It takes a couple of minutes driving around until I get close to a bridge and then it will load. While on a boat everything is clear ahead and suddenly an oil rig loads. Another time a navy ship loads. Need some help regarding this. Is this how the map is or is this a problem with my game? I am running on a pretty decent PC.
