Disable post counts gained from Off-Topic
« on: April 04, 2018, 02:22:27 pm »
Read Title for Info, compare with Forum behaviour for even more Info.

Although I admit forum spam is fun. But yeh, with all these stars and tags (of which I am myself guilty too) it becomes a annoyance, rather divert that energy into Suggestions instead of which many die off after a week.

Hey, I don't mind getting 500 of my posts removed, if people just creating accounts to gain dem tags and stars without participating properly and just spamming >.>

Idk why do stars exist, I have never understood their reason.
I also don't care about my posts getting removed cuz it gives no harm

Why do you people care about post count and "stars" anyway?

Actually wanted to suggest something similar but forgot.
In old ptp it was clearly mentioned in Off topic description "Posts in this board don't count". Bring that back.

I totally agree with Khan, and i think the same way. Post count shouldn't be visible, you can keep your post count to yourself.

A decent suggestion after quite a long time.

Post count shouldn't be visible, you can keep your post count to yourself.

Just because there are "some" people posting useless stuff doesn't mean we just completely remove if lol, what kind of logic is that? Most people just whore or whatever in off topic and not counting the posts in off topic would be in right direction (The way it actually was in PTP).

Removing post counts mean you're giving away the information about how much a mrmer has contributed or is active in part of server disscussions. It's not the greatest info but however it helps for me. Obviously I'm not gonna sit their and count your posts to know that.

Also I don't think Jonne's changing the way SMF works for a stupid count, he would have to update it internally which also restricts him from updating the smf forums on future without changing.

Forum ranks aren't irrelevant imho, but like Satvik said maybe post count should be kind of like a hidden attribute (only mods and admins could see them or something like that)
