Title: DJ Tutorial
Post by: Finisher on August 09, 2016, 11:38:37 pm
Hello PTP ,
This is a tutorial on how to become a DJ and stream songs via your pc on PTP server.

1) Download and install Winamp (http://www.winamp.com/)
2) Download and Install SHOUTcast Source DSP  (http://download.nullsoft.com/shoutcast/tools/shoutcast-dsp-2-3-5-windows.exe)
3) Open up the SHOUTcast Source DSP interface
4) Download YTD Software (http://d1m5f2dhunte7s.cloudfront.net/setup/ytdgc/YTDSetup.exe)
5) Once you installed all the required programs, open up Winamp.exe and the Shoutcast must appear first as shown below and follow the steps;

Server Address: radio.planbserver.com
Port: 8000
DJ/User ID: admin
Password: PM Jonne for it

(https://s9.postimg.org/uzdmbet7j/image.png)

After you're doing filling those details, click on the next tab "Directory"
And type your in-game name there

(https://s9.postimg.org/6wwsgjckf/image.png)

When you're doing filling your name, move on to "Encoder"
And make sure you select the exact same settings as shown in the picture below;

(https://s9.postimg.org/wgz2myxy7/image.png)

When you're done all the required details, click on "Connect" in the login as shown in the first picture above.
-----------------------------------------------------------

YTD Software is to download your songs from Youtube to your PC (360p Medium "mp4"). Very easy program to use and quite fast. Once you have a folder of "mp4" songs downloaded from YouTube, do as shown below;

Click on the icon as pointed below "Open file(s)"
(https://s9.postimg.org/arxdha5tb/image.png)

Then select your folder of songs, and select the songs you want to stream into PTP;
(https://s9.postimg.org/n7u3b0z5b/image.png)

After selecting the songs you want to play into PTP, click on "Open" and now you're streaming live from your PC.

Any questions/help feel free to PM me!
Enjoy streaming :)

what is that ytd thing, anti-virus is going crazy not letting me do anything

Edit: I wish someone would listen or atleast know if someone is listening. A chat notification to remind players of the /radio would be nice.

Displaying a message like "radio playing" is possible but displaying any kind of names/song names is not.
And name of who is listening is possible as well.
Why not write in the chat with /vsay or something

But I don't find it that important, simply remind your friends that you are playing a song.

It is possible and it works here - it shows song, author and DJ, but only when you're listening to that radio.

That program is trash and potentially filled with Adware. I also installed it but my Antivirus went nuts so I quickly nop'ed out of there. It's free but they just get paid to bind random crap into their installer, not worth it IMO.

Just use http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ instead, the files will be 5 times lighter and you don't have to run anything to download songs.

I'm pretty sure he meant something on the screen like in the top left corner with a label saying "LIVE RADIO!" or something.

I do not recommend downloading the YTD program. I recently scanned my PC for malware and this program got marked as malicious software. There are tons of websites out there (Just google "youtube to mp3 converter") that can do the exact same thing for you, without needing to download any programs.

YTD downloads the songs with a nice quality, I'm not saying keep using YTD if it's not safe but my archive was full of songs downloaded from converter sites but I could barely play any of those songs while DJ'ing, they were all sizzling so I had to download the songs I want to play from YTD again.

But it's not a big deal, or is it? Go ahead and find an alternative as good as this one..

You can replace YTD with KEEPVID or Yout.com[removing  ''ube'' from song url & pressing enter]
That works well for me.
YTD.. i also don't like :/

The guy has a great taste in music, without a doubt. If he knows what genre you like, he'll educate you and play good music.

Finisher or somebody else please tell me what are the encoder configuration in the setup, as the images are deleted/expired.
Let me help you out.

Enconder: This is usually mp3, AAC, AAC+, OGG & Opus file formats depending on what format you wish to stream in, obtained from Codec packs. The more updated your codec packs are, the stronger you will stream these audio formats with absolute accuracy and without tension/break between the stream.

For more FAQ, visit https://djgarybaldy.co.uk/setting-up-an-encoder-streaming-media it will help you alot with your questions regarding streaming. :)
