I'd like to suggest enabling the forum chat box.

I agree. It needs a lot of space on forum, so you always have to scroll down more and more.

i like the idea too, brings old memories back from the first forums, however i do remember people spamming the shit out of it so if a spam filter can be applied then definitely yes.

No. As we all know, there are a lot of "toxic" players out here, so they would just talk and talk and talk anything there

Shoutbox is a good idea as long as it is moderated adequately. If it's reserved for giving out notices, getting the attention of staff members for help in-game (although IRC is better for this) then I have nothing against it. However, if it is used by individuals to spam like the world is ending or for nonsense - then of course it will defeat the point of it. Nonetheless, I like to think that this new community has advanced in maturity compared to previous years so why not give it a trial run  :)

Maybe that's because I don't have any old memories, but I think that the shoutbox is not needed at all. First, as for me, it always looks ugly. Second, we've got IRC, why to separate non-ingame chatting into two places? Third, as others stated, it must be actively moderated. I see only disadvantages, so -1.
