Title: Help me pls
Post by: Gablo on May 31, 2021, 11:19:53 pm
Hello all! Don't cry anymore, I am back!

So, I got a new laptop and installed SAMP, but I got one problem.

I aways set my video resolution to "low", for a better performance. But everytime I join the game it goes back to full video resolution, so I have to set it manually to low resolution every time!

Anybody knows how to solve it? Thanks!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

The only reason I can imagine is that your game cannot save your changed settings to gta_sa.set. Check if this file or the folder containing it (GTA San Andreas User Files) has some weird permissions like read only and run your game as administrator.

Try deleting gta.set in your GTA SA root folder and if that doesn't work open it's properties and uncheck "read only"

That is cuz when gta is played with customized settings and when we SAVE those settings it required a file to remember your customized stuff, it will come back again and again when you open the game after the complete reversion of your settings.

Try ticking the read only aswell, and pls reveal your monitor resolution you use and the max resolution.

Weird ass problem

This is exactly opposite of your problem but might work? IDK.
My laptop stays at the same resolution so I don't have this problem. But try it, it might work I guess?

Maybe something like widescreenfix can work for this?

I only asked about ur monitor resolution you use and the maximum resolution it can support.

It doesn't have to do it with SSD as SSD serves the same thing as HDD, but faster.

The final test you can do is try lowering ur monitors resolution, the same resolution you use in-game.
Right click on desktop and click Resolution. Set your resolution to the same resolution you try to run your game with.

I don't think widescreen will help you out because that's a complete different problem.
but it will be worth a try, here's the link. just download it and put it in game folder.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/dkly6fi0vjuwpzt/widescreen.asi/file
I pulled this one out from my own game folder, it's a bit modded for optimal experience.

If all this doesn't work, I don't know what will.

Bro reinstall to another location (documents folder) or move to "documents" folder and try again.

I guess the issue is you are not saving settings properly in the first place,
First make all settings ...
Then Try to hit esc and quit game from the game menu instead of doing /Q

Just once done the pc will save the settings properly  8)

Hope it works  ::)
