Come on m8 don't expect everyone to have a percise reply. People could express themselves however they want. Just as long it's accurate. Thx -1

Kidding ;D I don't think replies without any reasoning are really taken into account when it comes to accepting or denying a suggestion. From what I've seen, the final decision is usually up to Jonne's criteria, which is partially made of the arguments he reads in the suggestion topic.
Agreed!

I noticed that people comment on suggestions with "+1" or "-1" without saying why they like it or don't, and how it could be improved or why it won't work. Mostly this happens because of post farming or being biased towards the author.

This should not be allowed as it is unfair and annoying.
I understand your frustration- I agree that it's not particularly constructive to just reply yes or no when the suggestion is much more complicated than that, but in the end, those comments don't really mean much. I wouldn't say it's because of post farming (which also doesn't really matter) or being biased towards the author. I would say its because they simply don't have anything else to say, or worst case, they could write their reasons but might think that they would be judged, so they don't.

While it is annoying at times, I'm not sure it needs to be disallowed.

People post their comments on suggestions the way they feel good. Its not good to make a rule over here to disallow comments on suggestion without proper reasoninng. Some of them post with reasons and some of them dont , its just like agree(+) or disagree(-). I dont think its necessary here.

+1 / -1 is better than creating a three-paragraph essay

Why can't we use +1 or -1 dude it literally makes our life so easier. Instead of writing long paragraphs we simple use the +1 or -1

So its a definite no from me

2+2-5 so -1 ;D

Haha jk, I think that saying -1 or +1 is way better than writing an arguement or giving your opinion, it facilates the vote on, and everyone is free to write what he wants

Very timely remark. Good to see some new face with a brain on this server.

Reason why the +1 and -1 system is used is simple, Time. Not everybody has the time to write an essay, like I have done sometimes. Most of the times I read the new topics in the train on my phone and I don't want to write an essay on my phone, because it simple takes too much time.

The reason we don't remove these posts in the suggestion board, is so we can see how the community feels about a suggestion. If we disallow these kind of posts, then a lot less people will give their opinion on it, and we only get to see a small part of how the community feels about something. Sometimes it's not really necessary to say any more than +1 or -1 either. Also, some people might have issues with the language to properly explain themselves. So, we'll keep allowing these kind of posts, so as many people as possible can give their opinion on a suggestion.
