As suggested before https://planbserver.com/forum/index.php?topic=265.msg1581#msg1581
1. I'm going to suggest once again that security class should spawn with full armour. The simple reason is that if security are not allowed to leave president's side, they should not have to go to get armour.
2. The old players would remember that getting in and out of a swat van gave you armour. I used to love that. It can benefit all teams as long as the vans are fairly positioned.

Eh..not sure about this one. I'd like this if this happens during special events like : /bu or If Number of Secs are too low, would save them time.
While if this happens if Secs are too much combined with the next suggestion(which I want to give +1 to), it would be a bit unbalanced.
-1 for now.

+1, would be cool seeing a portable armor pickup, although tbh I'd rather prefer this feature to be mapped on more weaker Vans like Securicar or Boxville, since SWAT Van has a water hose and off-roading and decent speed. Would make bringing portable armor a challenge in itself.
It's enforcer alright.

I like the idea of letting secs get full armour, since they can't leave president side +1
I don't understand the other one lol,can you explain more? :p

I remember that this was to be implemented on Tenshi's server, but for some reason it was forgotten lol. I like the idea, +1

Interesting, might be worth it actually. Although I'm not sure if non-Cop classes should benefit from this, perhaps it could be implemented as an experiment and to see how it would work

+1 for the first suggestion.
For second, I saw this feature on PartyServer and I didn't know it existed in PTP :o But I think it will be abused very easily. If the vans will be placed, players will try to use these vans as a vehicle and will stick to it everytime as a result it will be so annoying. PTP is a simple game mode and that's why players gets connected very quickly. Implementing any features beyond the game mode type will not be good.
-
You're right in a sense that it might be abused by players, but it will also stop armour camping

What if we set Van's HP to 500?

Full armour to security +1
About the swat van,I really dont know.

+1 to all

Both are good suggestions. Especially the one with the swat van. But did you mean Enforcer or the swat tank?

Enforcer. Get in as driver or passanger to get armour
-
Yeah, I think the security class should spawn with 100 armour again. With the current state of the game, security need a little buff to withstand the power of the terrorists.
Having a vehicle that gives armour to the protecting classes would also help the situation and should be atleast tried out. If it is deemed to be too strong, the vehicle could only spawn after a certain time has passed in the current map or instead of instantly gaining armour it slowly regenerates making you more vulnerable.
-
I like your first suggestion about giving full armor to securities, that will obviousily prevent abuse and complicate such reports, against rule-break.
For the second suggestion, I think it'll be abusive.

What if we randomise the spawn position of the swat van in every map like set it's location to 10-15 spots and randomise where it will spawn people will find it etc etc
Slow armour regeneration is also a good point.
-
Make swat be useful here. How? :
1. Make these vans/vehicle(2 max) spawn at swat spawn. Don't make them respawn after they get destroyed.
2. Only let Swat class drive it.
3. Only let president and security class take armour from these vans.(not cops or swats). A player can restore armour only once.
4. Whenever president types/bu an extra van spawns at swat spawn (2+1=3 vans , assuming that the default two vans weren't destroyed) and the swat team is sent a msgs about it.
5. For every player that restores armour using the van, the last driver(someone in swat) gets half score or maybe other bonus like grenades or rifle ammo.
-
I like the idea of slow regenrating armour , we could put a few swat vans at the swat spawn according to Saurabh , as well as some scattered around the map. I don't think /bu should be considered as a way of spawning another van because the president could just keep spamming it every now and then. Back to the slow regenarating point , the armour/hp could fill up 5 per second meaning , 5 seconds in the van would result +25 hp. However that doesnt mean they can't die in the car, the player would be vulnerable to any attack. Overall I'm supporting the swat van idea , I would like to see it implemented either way.

Not just that this makes the suggestion better, it can also make SWAT class more relevant. I'd like to see this.

So now swat class can have objective of driving swat vans arround map for securities and presi?

Security spawning with full armour will only make them over-powered. Some presidents camp near spawn.(I had seen them that's why I am saying this.) Giving the securities full armour will just make it impossible to kill the president if he's camping near spawn. So -1
I am changing my vote to +1
2. The old players would remember that getting in and out of a swat van gave you armour. I used to love that. It can benefit all teams as long as the vans are fairly positioned.
This seems good. We can give it a try. +1 Give them these limitations tho:

Security in reality have never been over powered. If they're not allowed to leave president's side. They should not have the need to go & get armour. And we all know if they do go to get armour, There is always someone present at armour spawn who would shoot and later cry about security not doing /duty. Its a no brainer. Security always tries to refil their armour but always leave with less than what they come to armour spawn with, Thanks to armour campers meanwhile presi is by himself.

Well I Never looked this that way. So, I changed my vote +1

I agree with the first suggestion. At the moment, securities are allowed to abandon the president if they want to get full armor, and they usually spend a number of minutes during which they are of no use at all for the president. They should be either disallowed to abandon the president for full armor or get it from the beginning. And I like the second option, as the /duty rule is already very hard to enforce and we don't want to make it even worse.
About Enforcers, I like the idea. I'd suggest to slowly regenerate armor to the driver and all the passengers of the Enforcer. Otherwise, players would bring them to fights and quickly enter them every time they are about to die, which would make them nearly invulnerable. Also, I would place them in SWAT spawns. As SWAT and cops spawn practically in the same place of every map (in except for NSA), I would move SWAT spawns further from police stations so it's not that easy for cops to take advantage of the Enforcers. After all, this feature is expected to encourage use of the SWAT class, not to empower cops and terrorists even more.

Sounds way better than the actual suggestion. +1

Yes .
I like mia's idea of slowly regenerating health in these vans. But i am still against letting cops/swat , terros and civils to refill using these vans.

Nice one

1. In my opinion Security class has a good arsenal to fight off the terrorists and rebel civilians and so I think that a full armour would make them even more deadly and OP. So -1, anyway good luck on this.
2. A good suggestion in my point of view but it should only be available per spawn/death to avoid abuse and people arguing about that. +1 and good luck on this thing.
-
I ll support both the suggestions.

I'm not sure how I feel about the security having full armor. Yes, there are times when the security is outgunned, but there are also a lot of times when you're the only terrorist actually attacking and it's already hard enough to fight multiple people with mostly better weapons. I feel like the latter outnumbers the former. If this is added, then there needs to be some check on the power of the security- maybe by making the M4 less powerful, or by decreasing the number of security. I also don't really see security leaving to get armor too often. If they do, it seems like it's usually because they're half-dead. A better way to resolve the problem would be for people to realize that armor isn't all that necessary much of the time.
I think I remember the Enforcer and the FBI Truck being armor spawns. It was pretty cool. I would prefer Quido's idea of slowly regenerating armor, though it might generate reports. I have to mention, though- if you're going to bring back the armor pickup in certain vehicles, why not also bring back the health pickup for the Ambulance?
It would be particularly cool to make the back of the Enforcer/Ambulance regenerate health or armor at a faster rate than the driver's seat and/or have an initial health/armor boost that the front doesn't- then you could have someone acting as a traveling medic (so you get in the back and get 20 HP, then an additional 5 HP every 10 seconds or something).
My only concerns are abuse if the system is too generous and false reports. I think it would be better if it were designed with emergency use in mind for the back seating areas- a boost to health/armor, then slow regeneration. Maybe the initial boost could be greater if the passenger has really low health/armor when they get in the back (but not so much greater than people intentionally damage themselves). Of course, there would need to be restraints on the initial boost so people don't get in and out over and over.

Full armour for security has been added in the meanwhile. The van idea seems interesting, we might give it a try.
