Umm we should change the name of Ban Appeals to "Unban Appeals" because people basically appeal for an unban not ban....

Both the terms are correct. Appeal is also meant for reconsideration to which a player request for their bans and thus its called "Ban Appeals". Although Unban appeal is quiet correct as well.

Ban Appeal, simply means to appeal your ban.

This is what the word 'Appeal' mean, in Law.

I don't think any change in the name is necessary.
