Don't really think this is needed actually. Its not that often we get asked by someone to remove a post.

And like Cobra said, Can be abused pretty easy to provoke an "fight" with someone and then act all innocent by removing your own posts. Pretty sure we had a problem like that on the old server if I remember right..

And I don't really like that people have the ability to delete their own posts on a forum that were made ages ago for some strange reason, You should stand by what you write.

Isn't that possible with editing as well...?

Deleting: you can make a person look like he is talking to himself (absurd?)
Editing: you can fake that a person got mad at you while you didn't say anything wrong

I think editing is much worse... don't you?
No I don't think so.. Because when you edit your post, there is a notice like "edited on blabla date". But when you remove your topic or message, only forum admins know it. For that reason I still suggest to keep current options for forum members.

Allowing players to delete their own posts and replies isn't a good thing imo.

No. Edit and quote actions are enough for regular forum users.

Grandpa is that you? I'm sure one or two new features won't confuse you too much.

To people who only answers no: You might wanna explain why because you're is the forum section where the community is trying to improve our experience.

+1 for me because I can't think of any reason not to do so

+1 one often makes mistakes that you realize only after you posted anything.
I agree. +1

You can make a person look dumb just by editing a post so having the ability to delete a post won't do any harm. Why is everyone so pessimistic anyway?

SMF doesn't really have in-depth options that let's you control all of this, it just toggles between the ability to delete posts. Since we can't really set any limits to it, I don't think it's a good idea to add this ability. Also, the same can pretty much be done by editing a post, and then people can at least see there used to be something there, and we don't end up with gaps everywhere.
