I didn't really like anime when I was younger, especially those extremely popular series such as Naruto, before I hadn't been shown Hayao Miyazaki's works. Those good plots, attention to the details, awesome soundtracks and quality of drawing conquered my heart. There were some others, not Hayao Miyazaki's ones, which I liked for pretty much the same things, such as GTO.
