I probably will ramble a lot, but please, I beg of you to take a few seconds to read through.Hello there! For those of you who don't know me - which is, to be honest, the vast majority of PTP players - my real name is Roy. I'm a citizen of Venezuela although I do like to consider myself a
citizen of the world, because in a perfect world borderlines would not mean anything. I've been under the Rev nickname since I began playing PTP back in God knows when, actually. It has been a couple of years.
A couple of years that have been filled with really fun times with so many of you! I got to meet wonderful people here and also incredibly intelligent human beings as well. And that's what brings me to creating this topic: those fun times and future moments that I could spend here, could soon be over.
You might not be aware of this, but tomorrow, our National Government, which has put on practice very dictatorship-like actions, will try and most likely succed on changing our Constitution. A few of those actions they've said will be taken are jailing whoever opposes them and, also, put on stronger censorship meassures or shut down the intenet as we currently know it. Oppostion leaders have call this procces the full implementation of Comunism.
As of this moment we have been on the streets fighting against it for over 3 months now. Three months that have left us with over a hundred people killed by the government military forces or those that support them (armed civilians, paramilitary), many, many more injured and around 450 political prisoners. Of course, more people have been arrested, but they're often let free. Those who aren't lucky? They get to spend days in a jailcell being abused and tortured. Some of the most twisted and perverse torture we are aware of are: prisoners being fed human feces, young women being raped, innocent and poor families being under threat, beating up, and so on. There's also this case of a man who was imprisoned in a jail especifically designed for the prisoner to lose track of time: the cell was pitch white with no windows, no outside lights whatsoever and no human contact. This could drive a man insane.
It certainly is very tough, but I don't want you to pity us. We are not the first to go through a situation such as this and, unfortunately, we won't be the last. And that's what saddens me. The world has its fair amount of twisted people and a lot of them count with the tools to get to be in a position of power.
You may not like me, and that's fine, but when it comes to hard moments in history, it's only united that we can see through them.
