It's a weird bug that's happened to me quite a few times, no idea what causes it. I don't have any mods either so it rules that out. After this happens, typing commands seems futile as everything overlaps each other and you don't know if anything has gone through. In this situation, the only logical thing to do is quit. You also cannot blame Bake for banning you, if ingame you were getting shot at, you leave the game and it shows you left according to IRC, there is no other option but to ban you. I'm sure if evidence was shown that you were in this bugged state, you would have been unbanned.
