Give users permission to delete their own forum posts and replies

I'd recommend a poll to be added on this suggestion. As for the suggestion, what if there is a need to view some old posts by a member, and the post was deleted by the member earlier? Is there any way to retrieve it? If yes, then I wouldn't mind having this feature.

Yeah, good point. Sometimes it's nice to be able to see what people have written and it's annoying when there are discontinuities. However, it was never a problem on the old forums. Also, people wouldn't be able to delete shit once topics are locked.

The delete feature would be good as long as you don't delete some of your 'ban appeals' etcetera , just for the sake of reputation. Otherwise It's good for personal benefit which doesn't cause harm to someone.

Good suggestion but I think it would just create clutter with the way fourm is setup. Meaning extra time and useless comments will turn into a quarrel. So for those reasons -1

Modifying one of the hundreds of existing permissions settings in the forum would mess up the way the forum is setup? Ok, lol. You have definitely managed many SMF forums.
