Proper reasoning on suggestions.
« on: December 21, 2017, 03:03:55 pm »
I noticed that people comment on suggestions with "+1" or "-1" without saying why they like it or don't, and how it could be improved or why it won't work. Mostly this happens because of post farming or being biased towards the author.

This should not be allowed as it is unfair and annoying.

Oh , comeon! Stop making PTP like a jail where you cant do things on your will.

People will write what they want to .

You (anyone) are noone to decide or pressurize them what they should write and what they shouldn't.

I don't think everyone here has a habit to write long paragraphs. Some don't even read it all (including me)
Also, not all suggestions actually require a opinion.
Some suggestions like "adding a vortex?" just require  those two small characters..
+1 means they agree on that suggestion
-1 they do not want this..

This should rather be a request to people than a rule...

"post farming" m8? u've to be a complete retard even to think that way. this is called gaming forums, and it's purpose is exactly that, to post bullshit related to the bullshit game that we are discussing/playing.

in the past we used to write like Yes or No, before "+/-1" became a thing, sometimes i see it as the easiest way to express myself, so what's wrong with it. i like to read/share some constructive replies from time to time but when there's no need for those, imo it's better just to keep it simple. not to mention how most of the suggestions are pointless, like this one, therefore writing a long explanation such as this, is a waste.

Kidding ;D I don't think replies without any reasoning are really taken into account when it comes to accepting or denying a suggestion. From what I've seen, the final decision is usually up to Jonne's criteria, which is partially made of the arguments he reads in the suggestion topic.

Not everyone is a good critique.
When you review anything they ask you to rate it by stars, and written review is optional (very bad example hahaha :P)
people Should mention the reason behind their vote but dont make it compulsory.

I do believe that argumentation is useful when expressing your opinion about a suggestion, but that should never be dictated by any rules or made obligatory in any way. Everyone should be able to state their thoughts in a way they feel most comfortable with (if it's not against the existing forum rules, of course).
