TriggerOnce in every 20 games.
Setup Randomly select one player to become the "Despot" class:
- Same team alignment properties as vice president
- Armed with the weapons of the bodyguards
- Invulnerable
- Purple player colour (or similar unique colour)
- Marked on minimap
Select a random X,Y,Z coordinate within a zone. This zone is manually defined for each map and stretches all/most map airspace that is above building tops. A single rectangular zone is perfect.
Place a building exterior at this floating location. Use a building exterior with ramps a player can walk up and down.
Place the Despot spawn location atop this building.
Broadcast message: "The President is required to attend a nuclear summit, to ensure the ongoing peace of his peoples and continued player disarmament."
Message to allies: "Get the president to the sky summit"
Message to terrorists: "Prevent the president reaching the sky summit"
Message to Despot: "Hold your sky fort until the President can arrive. The reunification of America depends on you."
Gameplay triggers Despot leaves (falls out of) fort zone: teleport him back to the top.
Despot disconnects: promote another random player to the role and teleport him up.
President enters fort zone: 10 second timer starts until endgame. Broadcast "Both sides are making compromises"
President leaves fort zone or dies: timer cancelled.
All presidents and vices die: move to next map as usual for Plan B, exit summit mode.
DiscussionA potentially interesting dynamic change is made: both teams now need to turn to flight in order to win. Flight resources are however limited and mostly non-offensive, so other team members will crowd below the summit and attempt to down the aircraft of other teams. And each other.
This gameplay tweak would replace the "keep president alive" timer instead with a "get the president to a location" goal, with a short timer until win once he is there (to prevent suicidal landings).
I'm not sure how the dynamics of sky summit height vs allowing parachutes would work out. Neither do I know how well aerobatics between buildings will be useful, but to try and tempt it the summit should not be held
too high above the ground. It only needs to be high so that it can only be accessed by flight.
I'm not sure whether or not open-bottom building interiors create ballistic problems in the gtasa/samp engine. IIRC bullets are still properly stopped.
Instead of choosing a random location within a predef zone and adding a building ext there: a list of predefined "high roofs" on the map could be chosen from.
Anyone have any disarming thoughts?
