A better system for Accounts
« on: September 08, 2017, 09:53:28 am »
Umm is it good to associate in game account to an email-id?
Because there has been scamming a lot lately
Not to say that it wasn't good but it could've been prevented.
A person playing should be confined to a limited IP range not like an Indian ID playing from Another country
Associating an email ID will also help to reduce the Password Loss so there should be a system which send Password reset to Emails otherwise we have to wait for like a week to get an admin to listen to us(ik they work hard)
So give your opinions
It's just to make our accounts more secure

+1 For one I actually agree with you.

Servers like PartyServer implement a verification system which forces you to check your email, copy/paste a code, and then you're fully registered. Plan B should be taking similar steps to enforce security.

And with that, resetting password via email is another option that would be possible

-1 to the IP range idea though

One more thought, When a new IP signs in with the ID, we should get an email or a text on phone(using digits by twitter)

+1 this seems nice , steam uses the IP idea aswell and whenever a new device or IP is detected it asks for verification. This is a solid idea.

I don't see much point in it.
It would restrict the privacy without a good reason; what if you move to another country? Would you have to notify the administration (one month before, in two copies)? What if you feel incomfortable to reveal your email address if you wish to register on a random server?

To protect your account, use a good password. If you forgot it, contact a head admin for assistance. So, -1.

A good idea would be automatical blacklisting the nicknames similar (like, with the capital 'i' instead of 'L' or without/with a clantag) to the current one along with the previously used nicknames to prevent the confusion. If anyone tries to connect under such nickname, he would be gently told to change it on join (maybe directly ingame using a dialog box?). So, for Nikola[NO] 'Nikola', 'Nikola[<anything but NO>]', '[<anything>]Nikola[<anything>]', '[<anything>]Nikola' and the same combinations with 'Nikoia' would be blacklisted. What do you think?
A paltry man and poor of mind
At all things ever mocks;
For never he knows, what he ought to know,
That he is not free from faults.

Yes I agree because a guy has been doing it
Using capital i  instead of small l or vice versa
